Ganesh Chaturthi 2027: Day-by-Day

Haritalika Tritiya

Bhadrapada Shukla Tritiya Tithi 02 September 2027 (Thursday)

Haritalika Tritiya, observed the day before Ganesh Chaturthi, commemorates Goddess Parvati's penance to win Lord Shiva as her husband. Married and unmarried women keep a strict Nirjala (waterless) fast, and it's traditionally observed as a Purvaviddha Tritiya - the day the tithi prevails at sunrise - which is why it follows the standard sunrise-tithi rule.

Ganesh Chaturthi

Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi Tithi 03 September 2027 (Friday)

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha, and marks the start of the ten-day Ganeshotsav during which clay idols are installed and worshipped in homes and public pandals. The date follows Madhyahna Vyapini Chaturthi - whichever day's Madhyahna Kaal (the middle 1/5 of daytime, around midday) the Chaturthi tithi actually covers, not simply the day of sunrise.

Anant Chaturdashi

Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturdashi Tithi 14 September 2027 (Tuesday)

Anant Chaturdashi closes the ten-day Ganeshotsav with Ganesh Visarjan, the ritual immersion of Ganesha idols, and separately honours Lord Vishnu in his Ananta form via the Ananta Vrat. It falls ten tithis after Ganesh Chaturthi in the same fortnight and follows the standard sunrise-tithi rule.
